Barack Obama is a famous person in the world. His full name is Barack Hussein Obama II. He was the 44th president of the superpower country, the United States of America (USA), and the first African American to hold the presidential office of the USA. Barack Obama was very famous for his diplomatic policies during his tenure. He played a vital role in promoting peace in the world. To recognise his peace policies, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He introduced the Affordable Health Care Act, also known as Obamacare, during his presidency, which remains. a remarkable decision.
Biography
He was born on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii, in the United States of America. Obama’s father’s name is also Barack Hussein Obama. His father was from a small village in Nyanza Province, Kenya. Obama’s father left Kenya and moved to the United States of America to study economics at the University of Hawaii, where he met and married a white woman from Wichita, Ann Dunham. After a few years, Barack Obama’s parents separated; his father went back to his native Kenya and died in a car accident in 1982.
 Early Life
Obama came back to Hawaii at the age of 10 to live with his grandparents. He was admitted to Punahou School. He was transferred to Columbia University in New York City from Occidental College in Los Angeles, where he graduated in 1983 with a degree in political science. After graduation, he moved to Chicago, where he started a job as a community organiser. Barack Obama graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991. Obama met his future wife, Michelle, as a fellow Harvard Law School student. He married Michelle Obama at the Trinity United Church of Christ on 3 October, 1992. Obama taught at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2003.
Political Career
Barack Obama officially started his political career in 1996 by winning election to the Illinois State Senate as a Democrat. He was re-elected in 1998 and again in 2002. He spoke against the use of force against Iraq; he said, “I am not opposed to all wars. I’m opposed to dumb wars… I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a U.S. occupation of undetermined length at an undetermined cost with undetermined consequences.”
On 10th, February 2007, Obama announced his candidacy for the presidential elections of United States along with Joseph R. Biden as his running mate. Fortunately, he won the election and was sworn in as the first Black president of the United States on 20th January, 2009. the oath was taken by Chief Justice John Roberts. Barack Obama’s oath-taking ceremony set an attendance recorded with 1.8 million people gathering.
Barack’s first act was the approval of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, which was signed just nine days into his office. This act was based on legal protection in the fight for equal pay for women. After that On March 23, 2010, Obama signed another act, popularly known as universal healthcare or “Obamacare.” Barack Obama started talks with Cuba, Iran, and Venezuela and set a withdrawal date for American troops in Iraq. He was again elected for a second term in 2012.
